Hey everyone,

Quick story about my iMac...sometime last year my power supply was very loud and all sudden it died and I took to apple store. After 3 weeks I finally got it back np.

All sudden again I am having a noise issue...normally its very quite but now I am out of warranty. This noise is so annoying I tried to reset the SMC but that was not the case. I am about to buy a new power supply and do the swap myself. I just want to make sure this noise is actually coming from the power supply before I even spend the $ on a new one.

Does anyone have suggestions on how I can diagnose it?

Thanks for your time

Yea I guess Ill need to do that. I also noticed that when I turned off the iMac it never really shuts off when I have my eat on the back. I then unplug it and the noise goes away but when I plug it back in it begins to make some noise! this sucks!
