It's the time to speculate what the new iMacs are going to look like again. The design has stayed the same for so long. But going by the rumors, it seems like the design will stay the same general profile again except this time they'll be inspired by the LED cinema displays. Anyone have any mockups to post?

Here's mine:

From what I gather, the iMac is not going to have a big redesign. Rumors say they will have design cues from the Cinema displays so the mockup is really similar. I think they might leave a little chin to differentiate the two.

I'm hoping it looks like this:

But a bit longer at the bottom like the current iMacs.

It looks as though that LCD panel is 16x9. I prefer the couple hundred extra pixels the current 24" iMacs offer, seems like it is such a rarity nowadays.
Yeah, true 16:9 has always irked me. It looks unnatural (as if displays are natural to begin with :p). I agree they should get rid of the black plastic black and use a unibody type design.

Completely unrealistic: I certainly wouldn't complain if Apple did a modern version of the iMac G4 design!

If my calculations are correct, a 16:10 20" display has 5.25% more pixels than a 16:9 20" display.... :D

An all-uminium :) enclosure would be nice to see, and would fit in nicely with the rest of the line.

It's such a shame that there is a huge price difference between the two types of panels. I paid $160 each at Fry's for these 24" ones, granted they are 16x9. Such a shame, I miss that 10.5%. between them. With the iMac, I don't think it would be unrealistic to push the absolute top end iMac to a 30" panel. It might seem ridiculous now, but that is when people said about 24" displays 10 years ago. Besides, the larger LCD would give room to put higher end parts in due to thermal restrictions being lifted.

you need the stainless steel in order to avoid the 30" screen from falling on its face all the time :D

god that G4 design was genius. What are these new LED screens that apple are bringing in...are they light? as in not heavy? a really movable, rotatable G4 like thing would be soo swweeet.
