I recently installed OS X onto an older iMac (400 GHZ G3 with 258 MB of RAM). For some reason on the monitor, it appears approximately 5 to 10 pixels are missing on ALL sides. Thus I do not know what applications are running on dock, I can't see the status of downloading web pages, etc. Does anyone know how to rectify this problem? Thank you!

Have you tried adjusting the geometry of hte monitor via the Displays control panel? It may just be over projecting hte surface and that should alow you to shrink it downa bit in order to fit.

When your in System Prefrences, hold the "option" key and click on Displays. The geometry tab should now be visible and you can ajust the size of the viewable area of your display there. :)
