iMac Mouse movement

Afternoon all,

Maybe this issue is just a personal one. But, I find that moving my Apple Mouse across/around the iMac 27" screen, seems to take too much effort from me. Example, by the time I am finished using my iMac, my right wrist and hand, know about it.

On my Windows computer (sorry!), I use a Logitech MX Master, and maybe I am simply used to it.
I set the iMac Apple mouse settings on 'fast'. Yet the movement of it doesn't seem fluid when moving around on the iMac.

Any ideas?

I tried five Apple mice and did not like one. I use my Logitech M325 since many years with my iMac and MBA.

The M325 is a cheep tiny thing natural living in my hand.

I recommend the excellent BetterTouchTool, not only for the ability to set tracking speed to something usably speedy but even more importantly to enable a much wider array of touch gestures for the Magic Mouse/Magic Mouse 2.

I am seriously wondering if it is simply the Apple Mouse.
Somewhere around here, I have another MX Master. I might connect it, and see how well it does/doesn't do. I am beginning to wonder if I just prefer the large mouse. After all, I do have big hands...

It's not the hardware but if you use the Logitech drivers for the MX Master you are very likely to see different (better) tracking speeds.

Hmm, interesting. So, you're saying to merely install Logitech drivers, and I should have a better experience?

Have you tried changing the pointer speed in preferences?

Systems preferences > Mouse > Point and Click > Set the Tracking Speed slider to Fast

Yes, one of the first things I did.

With regards to installing the MX Master drivers, not really sure how that would help (as another posted suggested).

The more I think about it, I strongly believe the issue is the size (height) of the mouse. I am seriously beginning to think I am simply used to a larger mouse.

Because the mouse tracking speed is set in software. The maximum speed setting in Mojave is not nearly fast enough for my tastes.

There used to be a way to override the system defaults with a Terminal command but it apparently no longer works in Mojave.

BeterTouchTool had some issues relating to mouse tracking speed in Mojave as well but they were worked out a few revisions ago.

My, my! I just downloaded and installed BetterTouchTool, and adjusted the speed of movement for the mouse.

WHAT A BLOODY DIFFERENCE!

Thanks to all those that suggested said software. I guess the question I have is, Apple, why not give us, the consumer, the option for 'higher speeds'?

Clearly there was/is a need for this, because someone built an app to solve said issue. For a while, I felt I was a bit weird saying the mouse was not 'moving' well enough...
