every time i turn my imac ( snow leopard) on, in the first time, i dont get any sound. i dont have any cable on, try pressing those volume buttons, its supposed to make noise each press. it doesn't.

then i tried plugging my headphones on and then taking off. the sound in the built in speakers came back to life ! thought it would be it, the next day, when turn it on again, no sound. then did the headphone trick, came back working.
then i rebooted it just to see if it worked now... nothing, same thing. i went to system preferences>sound it was "boom device" hightlited. tried clicking on the built in speakers, it came back to boom device automaticly after. its boom ?? i have a MBP ( with lion) also with the same version(download it cracked) installed, have had no issues with it.

anyone knows why is this happening ? any fix for this ? is it boom ?

any thoughts and advices are very much aprecciated !

p.s. yes, i get the sound when starting the imac, it only does not make sound in the os.

cheers

Viktor
