Just came back from vacation, lots of photos on my SanDisk Ultra, 32GB Card.
I placed the card in the appropriate slot on the iMac, and it doesn't show up on Finder.
Ive moved photos from this card to my iMac in the past.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
TIA

Take a look in the Preferences pane of whatever photo tool you are using and see what the settings are. There should be some check boxes indicating what happens when a card is inserted. Might be labeled Import.

My Mac is out of commission so I can't see what they should be right now.

Also, an SD card has a locking tab on it. Make sure it isn't in the lock position. That might make it fail to mount like you are used to.

In addition to the good advice you already received.... the slot may be dirty. Buy a can of compressed air and blow a few short blasts into the slot at a distance of about 6 inches away.

Make sure the Finder is set to show external disks on the Desktop and/or Sidebar.
Menu: Finder > Preferences...

Launch Disk Utility.app and tell us what disks it shows you. If it shows the SD card, take a screenshot of Disk Utility's window and post it.

If after several tries you cannot get the card to be read in the iMac's card slot, take the easy way out:

Buy a USB3 card reader.

It will cost you around $10-15 but may solve your problems instantly.
