Now that the new iMac of 2010 got a upgrade in graphics and such it's probably time for a new look.

I notice apple when it comes to computers that once they hit a new look that their next generation is just updated hardware.

The iMac has now got the updated hardware and is in works for a revamp on it's look for late 2011.

I would like to know what we might see. Here are my thoughts

    -Removal of the black Bezel
    -Slimmer
-Removal of the aluminum bottom (The way the apple moniter display look)
    -obviously better graphics
    -5MP HD Cam
    -Wall mountable

What seems more true and some more unlikely?

I've seen that post and it heads into a different direction.

The poster is wondering if he should wait for the next iMac model and the replies don't head into what we might see next

My post is about our ideas on what to look forward to and what we might see in the next model.

Bezel stays, as does the aluminum on the bottom. They need it to fit all of the components in. Not likely slimmer either, again, space constraints are an issue, and there needs to be space for air to move to avoid overheating. Plus it's pretty thin already. I expect more high-end mobile graphics cards, as they produce less heat and take up less space. Not sure about the camera, and the current iMac is mountable.

I doubt it will change much at all really. The most recent design isn't much different other than the different sizes for the screens and the edge to edge glass. Plus they are going crazy with the 'unibody' type models with the glass and black trim lately. Just my thoughts though.

I don't see why they would change the design. Last time, they changed the sizes and went from 16/10 to 16/9 so they had to redesign it.
The only reason I see Apple redesigning the iMac is to fit a touch screen as seen in some recent patents.

The 2011 iMac will probably be a really great upgrade which will bring more power all around but nothing revolutionary.
    Here's my prediction, for the 2011 high-end 27" :

    CPU : Sandy Bridge i7 2600 3.4 GHz
GPU : Blackcomb Mobility Radeon (which should be close to a desktop 5830/5850 when OC and could bring a good bump in performance)
    RAM : 4 GB of DDR3 1600 (8 GB will stay a BTO)
HDD : Maybe 1.5 TB (or even 2 TB if 3 TB is a BTO but I doubt it)
    Blu-ray drive : It won't be in (and honestly I don't care)
USB3 : As much as I'd like it to happen (the iMac would become the perfect BMD Intensity Shuttle companion), I don't think Apple will bother...:(

My biggest wish for the 2011 iMac and onward is that they take the superdrive out and make it external, just like the MBA and Mac Mini Server. They could either fit a second SSD/HDD or maybe go with a desktop 6750/6770 with the added space (the GPU would be even more apart from the CPU).

iMacs just got a minor redesign a year ago, don't expect anything revolutionary to happen anytime soon

The new iMac looks pretty tasty to me, as is.

Do we reckon the iMac will see the new Sandybridge CPUs in Q1 of 2011?

My academic discount renews at the end of next February. That'll give me something to think about, for sure.
