You know what though?!

Agreed. Some people are quick to blame Apple for anything they can think of, without being informed. For those who aren't inclined to click a link:

You know what it is though, people don't research or get to the bottom of anything, people just rather buy a ticket, sit back and be told things. So when the man is walking around all the time on stage saying a bunch of fanciful things like "thin", you go wow, it IS so THIN!

Some of us scratch our heads and frown, we go, wait ....... a....... minute.............. there buddy............ the overall thickness is.......... OMGOSH you mislead us with your marketing mouth! FAIL!

ha is this for real? They played a very cruel trick when they compared the two in the keynote.

That's the thing, the current iMac is not some huge beast. The depth is basically the same they pinched the edge. They took out parts like the optical and larger drive bay and tapered it but in the end you can't put it anywhere you couldn't before. The footprint is the same.

I look forward to when the back bulge is gone, when its about 5mm thick all across. then I can finally enjoy the imac the way I want to.

They had that... it's called the iMac G4. Honestly, still love that design to death. The entire computer is at the base, with only the display cable running up to the monitor.

Still looks pretty impressive to me. And that's from the worst perspective you can pick...

What I don't understand is last week I posted a pic of how the iMac would look and most said they didn't care as they wouldn't see/be, looking at the back.which is true. Fact is looking head on the NEW iMac and 2011 model look the same.

Comes with same 512mb of video ram, Slower HDD and non upgradeable ram on the 21.5",
I fully expect the 2013 model to go same way as iPhone and them change the way the borders are on the screen.
Apple will give the customer this model but deep down i fear there is something different brewing round the conner in terms of differentiating the models when you look at them from the front. plus 1G ram on all models and upgradeable ram option will likely come to base models. I've decided as I've said on other threads to pick up the 2nd or 3rd gen.
My 2011 iMac will hold me well until they improve this beauty a bit more
