Well... looks like mine got held up in Shanghai for 5 days waiting to clear customs. It had been scheduled for 12/28/17 delivery to Tennessee, but that definitely ain't happening now. Still hoping for about New Years

Anybody else get stuck? Just me?

Well, just go to confirmation email from UPS saying it's on schedule for delivery tomorrow between 12:30-4:30... also got my departure scan from Shanghai this morning too, so I guess it's possible? How fast can it get to Louisville/Memphis??

I ordered yesterday morning, and it's currently sitting in Shanghai customs waiting for clearance with UPS.

How long did that take for you guys? Estimated Delivery is Jan 3rd, but I paid for next day business express... supposedly it'll deliver the morning after it hits the states.

Nothing can prepare you for how cool it looks! £7k well spent. Ha ha. Will put it through it's paces later on, too much else on today but great I have it now and I can stop being OCD on tracking sites.
Ditto! I've been too busy to post anything since I got back from collecting it, and just now got to the point of having email fully configured and taking a quick break to catch up. Everything's looking good so far! Still about another 70 apps to install and configure, so that should pass the time for a while. The days of haunting the UPS tracking page are over, at least till the next big thing.

Good luck and a quick outcome to those still waiting for delivery. I don't think you'll be disappointed once you have it.
:)

It's shocking how fast it can get from China to various points in the U.S. It flies over night from China to the U.S. and then within 45 minutes of landing, it can be on another 2-hour flight to your area, and then 50 minutes later be out on the truck for delivery. When everything works as it should, it can be a lighting fast delivery from China to Wherever, USA. I hope it arrives in your hands tomorrow!

So true, and then you work out the average speed door to door and it comes out at like 210 miles per hour or something insane, and then your brain explodes. :D

...and of course the shipping is FREE..... well at least that cost is embedded somehow I guess.

Put my order in today thru B&H. Ten core, 64 RAM, 4TB SSD, Vega 64. This system will replace a 2012 iMac that strains to handle the 4, 6 & 8K timelines I'm cutting in Premiere. I'm looking forward to getting this sucker! In the meanwhile, it's fun to track all of you who are already receiving them!

Mine is now in Alaska! Says delivery by EOD Tuesday though... guess UPS only does business days. I requested to have it held at the UPS facility near me in LA though, so I’m hoping I can pick it up sometime tomorrow if it arrives there early.

Just got an update that my iMac Pro's estimated delivery date is Feb 6th - 20th. Ugh the wait! Here's hoping Intel / Apple get the 18 core models out sooner than expected!

I have gone to the order page the past three days only to close the page after selecting my options. I'm so close to jumping off the fence making my order (upgrading from 2011 27inch iMac, 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7, 24 GB memory). I mostly do filmmaking, commercial video, After Effects, Element 3D, and some physics/astro/math calculations for fun.

Applecare seems like a good investment for such a powerful machine (thinking of going with 8 Core, 64 GB Memory, 16 GB graphics, 1 TB storage). I'm sure some people ordered Applecare and some did not. I'd like to hear why and why not. Thanks.

I think the machine may actually be well designed. The 8 core stays pretty cool for now. That might be Apple's justification.

Got to Nashville tonight, but delivery got pushed back until tomorrow.

Arranged to pick it up at my nearest depot tomorrow. It's on it's way there now, so I'm hoping I can get it first thing at 8am!

Seems that stores are finally getting some.
The base configuration for $4999 is available for pickup today in two Orlando stores.

Have not seen this mentioned:
Those in the US still getting a delivery and have UPS might be interested to know that UPS has now a beta which provides location sharing of the driver once it is out for delivery.
So you can see real time your iMac moving closer to you.
I told you before this is pathetic ...

Picked mine up from UPS today in LA! Way earlier than the Jan 2nd delivery date.

Should be a fun weekend

I ordered one from B&H last night only to cancel it this morning and went and picked up a base model from the local store. The reality is that the base was really all I needed as it will be replacing my 6 core trash can which I had upgraded to a 12c and always felt that it was somewhat less satisfying that the 6c. I’ve never really had an issue with the 32gb and 256gb ssd in my cylinder. The top i7 iMac would likely be ok, but I figure the difference in cost bring quite a bit to the table without going overboard.

My UK order placed on 12/22 changed to preparing for dispatch on 12/31 and hasn’t shipped yet :(

Any idea how long it will be preparing before it ships?

5 days later after lots of research, I re-ordered the 8 core, 64GB memory, GPU upgrade :)

That's the same config I went with. For what I do, I think it will be a good while before more than 16 threads makes much difference. The higher clock speeds / fewer cores just makes more sense.

Mine took about a day from preparing for dispatch to dispatched, but it does seem to vary a bit - I wouldn't expect you to be waiting much longer now for it to move, or at least for the shipping docs to reach UPS so you can start tracking it there.

Unless, like me, they're a little confused by it being a "UK" order when your location is showing as NY, NY?
