iMac Pro running Sierra and NOT HS...

Does anyone know if the new iMac Pro can run Sierra? I really am not ready to go to HS as I am in a recording studio environment and not everything I run is fully compatible just yet. Thanks!

Generally you can only downgrade to the OS a Mac model first came with, meaning it's unlikely that Sierra has any support for the iMac Pro.

I don’t know for sure since it’s not out yet, but the answer is probably no. Typically you can’t put an earlier version of macOS on a Mac if it came out before the Mac.

Hopefully you’re pro software gets updated soon! I could not convert over to High Sierra until just 2 weeks ago, so I understand the situation you’re in. Hang in there!

There is no chance the iMac Pro will run Sierra; it will require a specific build of 10.13.2.

It's pretty likely that a virtualized Sierra will work, but until now there are no Macs that require High Sierra, so it's impossible to say for sure. In general, though, virtualized macOS does not perform very well.

The iMac Pro cannot run Sierra. There is no Vega graphics support in Sierra.
