I have a late 2009 iMac, with all the original parts, nothing has been replaced. Lately, it has started acting funky. It occasionally brings up the White Screen, and while I have been able to boot to Disk Utility and get the computer back, its happening more frequently. Anyone have any idea why this is happening? Would it be helpful to have a new HHD installed? SSD? :(

One thing you can try is backing up everything and restoring the OS (leaving all your data in place). Sometimes something can get corrupted in the OS causing the "white screen of death".
