    Hi Everyone

Just Wondering If There Is A Tutorial Anywhere About Fitting Ram In To The New iMacs?

Just Curious As Ive Been Saving For Months For An iMac And Plan To Upgrade The Ram, But Worried In Case I Mess Up.

Also, If You Fit Ram Yourself Does It Void Your Warranty?

    Thanks.

It doesn't void the warrenty but i do think you then need to buy ram from apple store (not sure about the last) and here's a site you can see they way how to:

    Installing RAM is incredibly easy.

Make sure you buy the right kind. Apple will charge double or tripple the price so I'd avoid them unless you're a fan of wasting money.

    It's DDR2 SDRAM 667 Mhz SO-DIMM - this is notebook RAM, basically.

Here is a link so you can see how it looks:

Then, put your iMac face-down on a soft surface (cloth, towel). Remove the screw where the speakers are. There will be two empty slots. One has RAM in it already. Insert the new RAM in the empty slot.

There is actually a diagram on the iMac stand that shows you exactly what to do.

Third party components will not void the warranty.

I can't guarantee that you won't break anything due to an improper installation.

    I use OWC...

hardest part is finding a screwdriver that fits...

be careful not to strip out the screw.....that's the only problem you might have.
