Hi,

My 24 inch 2009 imac's logic board and harddrive was replaced by an Apple authorized in-home service technician and now the computer system's serial # is blank.

Is this related to the replacement of the logic board or the harddrive and does anyone have any suggestions in getting the serial # put onto the computer? Thanks! 🙂

Serial # is connected to the logic board. Contact the service provider.

Thanks for your quick reply! I just contacted Apple and spoke to a senior tech advisor, who told me that Apple has to send an in-home service technican to my house again but he is not sure what the process is putting the serial number back onto the logic board.

Would they have to use a special tool to embed the serial # onto the logic board? Thanks! 🙂

Normal, my MacPro had the mb replaced, no serial number. I called Apple, told me it was normal.
