Whatever you release Apple, please return to black bezels and an Apple logo on the front. The current model looks like a cheap Chinese imitation of the iMac—not the real thing.

PS. I won’t be buying one anyway, having learnt my lesson with a beautiful 27” display now stuck in my tired old Intel iMac—what a waste.

Looking forward to seeing the new iMac. Expecting the same bright colors to continue. Will be nice if Apple has a simple bigger non Pro iMac. That seems unlikely and the bigger iMac will most likely be a 'Pro' machine and that will cost $3599 to $3999 at least. Don't think there will be a $1999 bigger iMac. Not sure when during the year the 24" iMac will get updated.

Pet peeve: LED backlighting replaced CCFL backlighting. BOTH are for LCD screens. OLED is not. To be clear/restate: LED is an LCD technology, it does not replace LCD.

There are multiple forms of LED: edge lit, direct lit, FALD, local dimming, and more.

The primary benefit of OLED technology compared to the current iMac's LCD is better overall image quality, with higher contrast ratio and deeper blacks.
Also, it doesn't harm if you can price it higher.

I work 50-60 hours a week on my 24" iMac
I'm in front of my 27" 2.5K since Valentines Day 2013 to two months ago at 12hrs daily.

I then moved to a 32" 6K display.

I put up with the 27" from 2021-2025 because 24" is too small for me.

Moving to 32" 6K is awesome.

It is selfish to say but I hope I was not wrong if a 2026 iMac 32" 6K base M5 16GB 256GB starts at $1,799.

I used a non-retina 27-inch iMac for years and loved it. I think the screen still looks good, even though it's low resolution by today's standards. The internals on that machine are ancient and obsolete in almost every way, so it's destined for the e-recycle center. It's a shame that Apple ditched target display mode for iMacs, as this could still have life as an auxiliary monitor (assuming I could daisy-chain together thunderbolt adapters).

I would consider another iMac if they offered support to use it as an external monitor. Otherwise it's hard to justify binding compute and display in such a inflexible way.

I wonder if this move to selling separate Macs and monitors hasn’t worked out so well for Apple.

I know it has meant I’ve spent less than I otherwise would have over the last few years. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was quite common.

Apple if wanna sell...they should focus on the bigger imac...24" imac and the 21" will never outsell the bigger one
So 2026 bigger imac with M5 Max and Apple Studio Display with mini-Led 120hz will be a must have
Not everyone has desk space for a bigger imac at home, and a lot of other places imacs are used, like receptionist desks, are often cramped for space too. I’d actually be willing to bet that if a 27”-32” imac were to be released the 24” (Apple doesnt make a 21” imac btw, they havent since the intel machines, they only make a 24”) would outsell it.

Also I’m sure Apple has plenty of market research pointing them to the current size

Er, “the real thing” doesnt have white bezels? The 1st 4 generations (G3, G4, G5, and first round of Intel machines) dont count?
