A couple quick questions:
1) Go to the Apple Icon and About This Mac. What version of Mac OS X is it running?
2) If its not up-to-date, you may need to get a combo pack from Apple's site to update the Mac.
(I've had this issue with Lion not showing things from the App Store)

I can't get to that area of the computer it's stuck install mode as it was my uncles computer 💻. That’s current situation

Do you know what year the iMac was made?
Do you know what version of the OS was on it when he gave it to you?

As you have found out, it's not a good idea to "wipe clean" a Mac unless you have a bootable backup!

Hi All,
The year was roughly 2015–2016 when El Capitain came out so I think my plan is to speak to my brother or uncle and ask him to do it, the uncle that’s the IT specialist.
