I hope we see new Macs (plural) next week. Mac Mini and otherwise. A lower priced iMac would make sense if they're going to release a higher end version later. Am I interested? No. I'd rather get more bang for my buck.

If I had to buy an iMac now, financially I'd push for the higher end 21.5" (Don't have the space for the 27")

Shipping times are back up to "Within 24 hours" on Apple.com...I really wish they would've kept slipping, as I'm waiting till Monday to buy a new 21.5" iMac and any slight indication that it'd be worth the wait would've helped quell my anticipation. :D

well I was going to get a macpro

but ill wait to see what the refresh brings. My current mid 2010 iMac HD just died. After replacing the HD with a WD black platter drive I have a fan issue and its no longer usable in the studio. Would be nice if I could fix it but unless i put another seagate drive with the same connectors im stuck with this. So I save my money for a new iMac. one more month should be enough. its a shame though. I was really hoping for the macpro and possible a new Moog Sub37.

?????

Better: Where is my $499 Mac Mini?

That is what I am hoping for ! $499 Mac Mini

Deja vu of the 5c anyone?

I doubt this is legit.

Different color choices?

where is this coming from? what? how does the 5C relate to this iMac?

I still don't see how a 1199$USD iMac could replace a 599$USD Mac mini. Let's say you're a new user and need a keyboard, mouse and monitor, the total for these three items is nowhere near 599$USD.

so let's say a Mac mini + monitor and peripherals costs $750.
that would only be $250 less than a $999 low-priced iMac

I think that apple replacing the Mac Mini with low-cost iMac is not out of the question. Then apple would be back to Steve Jobs quadrant system.

But in reality I do think apple will be releasing a new Mac Mini hopefully starting at $499. Hopefully all SSD

and those who doubt that a new iMac will start at $999

you have a natural $100 drop, like the MacBook Air.

Also you can drop the starting 8GB down to 4GB. ($100)
And a newer updated cheaper haswell processor ($100)

possibly start at 500GB instead of 1TB

Yes.... because a $100 price drop to what the cost was before they shrunk it and had less hardware in there is so low cost.
