My mac is slow, the computer can't even keep up when I type and when I scroll down a page it also can't keep up. Any suggestions?

More info is needed to get an idea as to why it is running slow. Otherwise the safest bet is to say you need dodecacore Mac Pro with 20 disk SSD RAID array, 64GB RAM and Radeon 5870 is needed:rolleyes:.

What model of iMac do you have? What are it's specs (RAM, CPU, HD &c)? What programs are running? What version of Mac OS X is installed? How much free space is on your hard drive?

Most pertinent specs can be found in the Apple menu in the upper left and selecting "About This Mac", other detailed specs can be found clicking the "More Info" button. Hard drive free space can be found by opening a Finder window of your boot drive or any folder contained within and looking at the bottom bar of the window. The name of your boot drive rather startup disk is listed in the aforementioned "About This Mac".
