iMac Starts Slow

Hello Everyone,

Lately, my iMac has been getting really slow. It takes quiet a while to turn on, and to go from the log-in screen to the desktop, it takes around 10 seconds, while on my MBP it takes about 3 seconds.

I've run CleanMyMac and got 11 gigs freed up, but it's still slow. Any other programs I can run to make it increase in speed?

Do you have an i5 in your MacBook Pro?


Also does 5 seconds really matter?

Do SMC and PRAM reset and run Disk Utility. Also select your OS X partition as #1 boot volume from Sys Prefs > Startup Disk
