Okay so I have had a iMac 24" for almost 3 years, and now it decides to grey screen. I visited the support.apple.com site (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1411?viewlocale=en_US), and got nowhere, unfortunately. So I am assuming that my iMac is done, and I will have to have something major changed, like the hard drive.

If I have had Time Machine running with regular backups (Seagate Free Agent for Mac), can I just reinstall where I left off, or are my files gone for good?

Thank you in advance,
B

Time Machine runs every hour, so as of the last time that it ran, you'll have all of your important files.
