Hello,

I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem and how to fix this, but I had gotten my new iMac 21.5in yesterday and plugged in my USB mousey adapter to the 3rd port on the back of my iMac and experienced a lot of lag on the screen. I have tried every other USB Port, and yes, this is a new mouse so there should be no problem in the mouse's part. Any help? Please reply ASAP. :)

What type of mouse is it and have you tested on another machine?

Also do you have another mouse to test on the imac?

Just helping you to confirm where the problem is.

I do not have another mouse to try on the iMac. The mouse I have/ used on the iMac is a Logitech M525. It works perfectly fine on my Macbook Pro 17''. :l

That does seem to suggest the problem is with the iMac. See if making changes in System Preferences, Mouse makes a difference.

You understand this is what we have system information for. See what it says at the bottom? You'll know if it is hardware or software immediately.

Is it wireless? Because I also had this problem with my performance mx.
Plugging a USB 2 extension cable on the receiver seems to fix it.
