From the graphics, I see that's a 27" 3.2GHz quad-core i5, and I take it you're buying, not selling? That machine is $1968 incl APP, brand new from Apple, and is also available on the refurb store for $1529 (plus APP @$169).
If in excellent shape and fully functional, the desktop you're considering for $1500 seems priced fairly reasonably, though a tad on the high side. Assuming you're likely buying from a stranger, in addition to asking the seller why he's selling such a new computer so soon, I'd low-ball that asking price somewhat, and play it by ear, while keeping the refurb store price in the back of my mind.
Unfortunately, no. But refurb prices are already considerably lower than what you'd pay with the approximately 10% discount you're getting in the edu store.
Yeah someone was selling it. I might just wait and save about 3k for the new imac( hopefully this year). I'd like a top end graphics card and tb2 support so it'll feel future proof

I know right. It's like I could spend like 1400 and get a good deal on a current imac or I can spend prolly around 3k but get exactly what I want, specs and all.
Well I bit the bullet and bought it. 1300 for 27 imac i5, 775m 1 tb hdd. What u think? Ac on it til late 2016 too. I figured 1st thing is external ssd for boot. I can do that with bootcamp?
So what I want to do is get an external ssd to use for osx and windows 7 bootcamp. Can I use an external ssd for that, while using the standard 7200 rpm drive for media/files?
