Was comparing the two new 2017 machines, mostly interested in dev work, XCode etc.

According to https://browser.primatelabs.com/mac-benchmarks: the baseline iMac with Core i5-7360U @ 2.3 GHz (2 cores) is comparable to the top of the line MBP Core i7-7567U @ 3.5 GHz (2 cores).

Does anyone know if these results are reflected in real world usage as well, that basically the performance between the two is very similar? A bit surprised at how performant the desktop setup is.

    Expect about 4800 / 10200 for the i7-7567U.

Interesting. I too might have expected the entry level iMac to be slower.
