So, I reinstalled leopard on my 24" iMac today. I've had it since December. I left for a couple of hours while iTunes was importing all my music and now that I've come back, the iTunes page and dock icons are "burned into" my screen. The weird thing is that the HD icons and those over there are not "burned into" my screen. I'm going to try what some people have said, to make my screen saver white to see if that gets rid of it. If it doesn't would my iMac still be covered by the warranty, in other words, can I call someone and get a replacement?

If I can, what number do I call, and how long does it normally take?

    Thanks for the help guys.

Well, it's still covered by Apple then, so call 1-800-MY-APPLE, and they'll give you the tech support number. Or take it to an Apple Store. But try the white screen saver first

Dont worry. Its not actually "burn in" like in plasmas. The LCD crystals only "remembers" and have a "electric charge". These "burn ins" will go away when the picture (pixel colors) are changed enough. Fastest way to remove the burn is powering the display off(not only the backlight).

These lcd "burns" happens on most of the current lcd type and you dont need to worry about it! ;)

Thanks for all the help guys. I've downloaded LCD scrub and I'll give that a try.
