Ok so there is a used IMAC on ebay that is a pretty decent offer. HOwever it doesnt have the original disks. it does have the original box and all that. Whats the downfall of not having the original disks??? if the system fails i would need to reinstall correct?? i wouldnt have the disk for the IMAC so would i need to buy one from apple or whats the downfall????

The downside would be not having the possibility to restore the system, but Apple offers the Restore DVDs for 15 to 30 USD if you contact them.

You could also buy Mac OS X Snow Leopard for 29 USD if the iMac is an Intel Mac, but iLife will not be included.

Also have a look at the following links to learn more about Mac OS X:

MRoogle is a good tool to search these fora for already existing threads about questions you have. It might be able to answer you quicker than waiting for an answer.
