Hi Everyone I hope you can help with a new problem I have encountered.

I have a late 2013 iMac.

Just this last week it will no longer wake from sleep if a key is pressed or the mouse. I have to switch it off at the wall and press the power button to get it to wake.

I have added new memory from Crucial 32MB to max the RAM. Could this be the issue? Are there any workarounds?

I have been asking about this myself. From extensive google searches, it appears these crucial chips interfere with the wake function. I have ordered OWC memory to see if this problem goes away. Will post back on Wednesday.

There is significant confusion over Crucial memory product numbers. I have yet to find a product number match for what Crucial says is needed and what is being sold on Amazon and may other places.

Many turn off the sleep function on iMac, so that likely why it goes unnoticed. I want memory chips that do not inhibit operations of the computer.

I install chips from OWC and they are not causing the sleep/wake function to fail. I returned the Crucial ones to Amazon.

I find that it won't wake from "deep sleep" rather than just the general screen off sleep.

Which chips from OWC did you get?
