iMac & worldwide warranty?

Does anyone know if iMacs are covered by Apple's warranty anywhere in the world?

I heard "stuff" are cheap in Hong Kong, and I may be in Hong Kong for a while sometime soon so was thinking of picking up an iMac while there.

As far as I remember, this holds only for portable macs. I recall reading something like "able to operate without a power connection". -> MacBook, MacBook Pro, iPod. Things you are likely to take on a trip.
