Ok, well i'm not entirely sure that my question goes in this section, but it seemed the closest to what i wanted to know.

A bit of background, we run quite a few computer labs in a windows environment at a University, for the image deployment we use Altiris Deployment Solution 6.8. However one of the departments at the university who has asked us to support their labs uses mainly Macs.

I've done a bit of research and from what i've found i need a Mac OS X Server to provide the boot image for deployment using NetBoot.

Now is their a way to do a network or even cd boot so that the Mac machines connect to my Altiris server so that i can cast them with the image without having an OS X Server? or another software package other than Altiris i can use to cast without an OS X Server?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Apple Remote Desktop is one app that can restore (Mac and windows bootcamp) disk images to Macs.

ARD runs on any Mac, thus you can run it on a Mac Mini, but for better performance, you should get at least a Mac Pro with multiple drives.
