This app crashes virtually every time I use it, and the team never responds to complaints or pleas for help. I've given up and had to find an alternative.

For me it's iDraw. However, I still use Intaglio because it has CYMK support. From what I hear from the dev when I last inquired, CYMK support is something they have plans for, but no ETA.

I can do all my designing with iDraw, but when I need to print in a CMYK colorspace to my CMYK laser printer, Intaglio is still the only way for me. I don't do Adobe, so no chance I'd rent Illustrator.

iDraw is the Pixelmator of vector.... it even has the same dark UI.

If iDraw had CMYK support, it would be the only vector app I use, and I've tried them all.

iDraw is nice. It's a little light weight compared to illustrator but it's quite nice for basic-ish or moderate stuff. I like the iPad version quite a lot (especially being able to add fonts via Dropbox).

I didn't know about Pixelmator's vector capabilities. Thanks guys!

Meant to say, I'm a huge fan of Pixelmator but I will eat my own hair if the healing tool works as well as that video demonstrates. The fact it added in individual rock structure behind the guy that doesn't appear to be anywhere else in the image makes me highly suspicious!

I've been using GIMP all this time.. how much better is Pixelmator?

A lot better, I used gimp for quite along time, and didn't find the interface very friendly and it was quite confusing. And when I switched to Pixelmator I found it user friendly and easy to use.

Can we do vector graphics with Pixelmator?

Yes, like Jessica said. You can't export as SVG or vector PDF files, the vectors are rasterized in any other format than PXM.

That said, for me personally, I can't imagine drawing/doing illustrations in Pixelmator without using its vector shapes & layer styles anymore.

--And to get into (& out of) Vectormator mode, Command-Shift-V.

I have Pixelmator, but yes, for $15 will add Acorn.

So glad there is so much support for independent developers out there. :)

Too many people complain about tiny little things and forget how difficult it is to create a software program.

Pixelmator has a build in vector editor named Vectormator. One click and you jump back and fourth between bitmap and vector. Where as Adobe are yet to come up with the idea of combining the two...

Photoshop has always had vector tools built in. Starting with CS6 they are even more powerful. Sure not a true Illustrator replacement but you can now do a lot of vector work right inside of Photoshop and integrate it perfectly with your designs.

I use CS6. I feel that Illustrator is very empty when compared to Photoshop. I do some vector work in Photoshop, but I like Illustrator for full on stuff like Logo designs...

I use it daily and have had many 2 crashes in the past 2 years. I don't think the crashing that you're experiencing is a direct fault of the app itself. The crash logs would reveal what the source of the crash is.

How in the world does it add the rocks behind the guy that is removed? Is it so mind-blowing that it is not actually real?

It looks like its a content aware heal tool which works really good for things like this.

Content aware isn't perfect, but does work really well for a lot of things and saves a lot of time by at least getting you really close even if some manual cleanup is needed. I use it all the time in Photoshop for retouching quickly.

I downloaded this at the half price along with Sim City 4. Been wanting SC4 for years. Plus I've heard and read many great things about Pixelmator. Can't wait to give it a go.

I just bought this app because of MR's post and because the reviews have been stellar. The reviews are accurate. The repair/heal tool is AMAZING. It took me less than 30 seconds to edit this photo from a busy Airshow I went to a few weeks ago. [I got rid of the woman to the left]

I cannot speak more highly about this app. It runs great on my late 2008 iMac. Great buy.
