Image Retention Getting Worse! Now in Color?

Update:

Well... I'm here now at the Apple Store and so far I've been waiting 45 mins for a genius bar meeting.

I set it up before I left, but idk they seem really busy. So it looks like ill be here a while.
 
If we live us the U.S. but don't have an apple store near can we send the laptop in to get replaced? Has anyone done this? Turn around time?
 
Yes, they usually send out the box next day and then it's a 3 to 5 day turnaround.

I went to the Apple Store today and I was told my rMBP will be delivered on Monday. Even if I would have just ordered the box it still would have been here by Monday.

Update: so everything went really smooth. The apple genius said it was the worse IR he has ever seen.

They took my laptop and put in a repair order. I was told it would be delivered to my house by Monday.

WOW that's fast!

Well they actually ran a test on my MacBook where a checkered board image would stay up for about 5 min then disappear.

Basically if the checkered board image stays on the screen any longer than 1 min then it is considered defective.

So a little IR is considered normal to them.
 
Just collected my Retina MacBooke Pro from the Apple store.
Screen replaced within 7 days and it's a Samsung panel :)

I can't believe this!

I brought my Macbook in on Thursday and I just got it back today on Saturday. WOW!!!!

I love Apple, and guess what!

How's your new screen? I have an LG screen with a bit of image retention, but I read reports of the SAMSUNG screens having tinting issues. I would take image retention over other issues being reported. Are you happy with your replacement?

Yes! It is much better than what I had. It does seem to be warmer than my LG screen.

Overall, there are no dead pixels and no IR.

The IR was a serious problem for me because I could see applications on top of each other when I was working.

The Apple Genius said it was the worst IR he had ever seen.

So compared to my last screen it is entirely better. Just a little warmer though.

Some Samsungs are a bit warmer, but it's tons better than having a 'IR' time bomb screen! :apple:
