S8 and SE are 45mm?
SE remains at 44mm. Gotta give people at least one reason to pay an extra $150 😆

I am most interested in the 2000 nits brightness ... for my aged eyes bright screens are a must to see anything even in ambient lighting.

Perhaps I should see an ophthalmologist instead of buying a new watch.
Ophthalmologist might be more expensive… Bit of a tossup IMO.

Thanks for sharing, interesting to see as this was not clear in the presentation (I assume intentionally). Ultra still looks great for all the other reasons as others have said.

I preordered the ultra and I’m finally retiring my series 3! So this is going to be a huge improvement for me, can’t wait!!!

So the Apple Watch Ultra has a pixel count of 502x410 and the Apple Watch series 8 has a pixel count of 484x396.

The Apple Watch Ultra screen is 1164 sq mm while the Apple Watch 8 screen is 1143 sq mm. So the Ultra screen is only 21 sq mm larger. For those that think that way.

That’s crazy that it will be 2000 nits. holy smokes that will be some serious contrast.

Perhaps with Ultra’s flat screen it will effectively better use its size vs. the curved edges of S8/S7?

I do think the curved screen make the series bezels seem smaller, as light reflects off them so they’re not flat black.

Thanks for posting this. I have launch day S4, so the Ultra will be a huge upgrade for me, for battery life, sensors, case material and screen size.
