I'm a newbie to the mac world and recently I'm having this problem that when I delete messages in gmail via mail app, it just downloads the the deleted messages again. What's going on and how do I correct this? And I'm using leopard.

Take a look at the enclosed link, hope this helps you

There is another thread in the forums about Gmail and Mail.app, someone there sugested taking a look to this link:

There are few extra steps to properly setup Gmail IMAP and Mail.app. I was having the same probles you describe here but after following the steps in this tutorial all is working ok for me.

BTW, google has posted now 2 sets of instruction for setting up IMAP one for 10.4.X and other one specific to Leopard...

Hope this helps

Cheers :apple:

I've given up trying to use Gmail's IMAP service with Mail.app for this exact problem. I also had some messages not showing up (not because of the Junk filter). Whereas I had no problems in Thunderbird on OS X.

Sucked poop is what it did.
