iMessage beta... can't see my buddy list

i had aim before and after i installed iMessage beta, i can't see my buddy list.

when i click messages on top left of the screen, i made sure i'm online and that aim is checked. still can't see my buddy list though anyone?

hmm it says 1.. i'm assuming it's not picking up my aim contacts? how can i fix that?

I really can't tell you if it carries your list between (former) iChat and the new Beta, I just know that's how to bring up the list
