not sure if this has affected anyone else.

I have a Gevey SIM so it is possible it only effects those users.

I was just in Ireland for the weekend, and noticed I was getting charged 10p for texts all the time at random... I wasn't sending any texts and had all data turned off.

Well after 2 days I finally figured out that iMessage is trying to "Authenticate with Apple"at times (maybe when I step in and out of WiFi zones and using iMessage at those times) and it must try to send a "text" every time.

This same setting is for FaceTime too so I can't be sure if it is only iMessage.

But yeah this is just a warning in case anyone else runs into the same situation... don't be stuck without any credit!:apple:

You just answered your own question, you said you had all data turned off. iMessage goes thru data. If you turn it off it will go as an SMS. And be crazy expensive! There is a setting in Messages to send as SMS if iMessage fails...turn that OFF!

nope that's not what I'm referring too. I had that option off as well.

I mean just iMessage tries to authenticate with apple even while not using the app at all!:D:cool:
