iMessage conversations disappearing on Mac

So, I'm running Mountain Lion on two computers, and then I have an iPad and an iPhone. Yesterday, I got iMessage synching everywhere. Today, when I logged in at work, most of the conversations only had the last message, and the participants' names had been replaced with their phone numbers. Ideas about what I need to change here?

Ok, I fixed it, so I'm just posting this here in case it's useful for someone else.
At work, because I was using outlook for mail and calendar, I hadn't added my exchange account to the contacts/calendars setting. Once I did that, and just deselected everything but contacts, the problem fixed itself.
