iMessage 'delete all'

With sms forwarding my iMessage on my Mac quickly becomes cluttered, add in the iPhone and iPad and I spend a lot of time deleting the 'triplicates' as well

Anyone have a 'trick' to do a delete all on OS X iMessages, seems you have to delete each individual message which is tiresome.
