iMessage how to get rid of the icon

I am on iOS 11 I swore in iOS 10 you could delete the icon.

Don't use iMessage on my iPad.

Why not just move it to a folder on another page. I made one called junk.

I don’t think you can actually remove such integral part of the OS. Follow what @Newtons Apple suggested.

I have an Apple folder just put it in there if you don’t use it.
