iMessage in iOS 14: Mentions, Pinned Conversations, Inline Replies, and More

Still missing the ability to mark it as unread.

Also still missing the ability to retract messages...

Yeappp. I’m VERY happy to see the ability to quote, but Messages will still feel years behind until you can mark as unread or retract.

I hoping these are hidden features that weren’t part of the big reveal but will pop up in a later beta.

This is garbage. There are exactly two features Messages needed:

1. The ability to mark a message unread
2. Cross-platform compatibility

Is anyone else *dreading* having to explain what "threads" are to their parents? Apple keeps mucking up their platform with useless complications without giving us basic, bread-and-butter features that would make our lives easier.

That said, kudos on allowing us to change the default browser and mail program... a decade late, but still. Sigh. Not excited for this version at all.

EDIT: does anyone know if it's possible to turn off threads and mentions entirely? Or per conversation? 🤞

Hard to say if it was really something that was even meant to be there as was more of a rumor or perhaps something that was just potentially being considered or experimented with.
