iPod touch iMessage in Itouch ?

Umm..
Im planning to buy some itouch for me.
And Apple announces that theres a iMessage.

Well. I know that Itouch cant have have a message.
But with this app.
Can I still put my simcard ?
And.. Can I still message just like my 3G ?
Give me some details ^^/

You cannot put in a SIM card: there is no slot. iMessage works when you have a WiFi connection (and only then).
