iMessage in the Cloud?

Thinking about getting a Series 5. I had a Series 4 for a few weeks in June but returned it to wait and see what Apple had planned for the 5.

One thing I didn’t like was that messages didn’t sync like they do between my iPhone, iPad and Mac. Just curious if watchOS 6 had messages in the cloud? I can’t find any info.

WatchOS 6.x ... iMessage or Messages set to Sync with iPhone does NOT work.

Just bought the Series 5 yesterday, paired with my iPhone 7+. Watch OS 6.1.2. Messages sync on both but notification only appears on the watch.

My main gripe is that the watch doesn’t recognize when you have read the message on your phone or iPad. I have to open messages on the watch in order for the unread message notification to go away.
