iPhone iMessage issue

When I send a iMessage to my wife it sends and she receives as an iMessage but when she replies her message shows as an text in her phone and mine.

If she goes to create a new iMessage to my cell number shows a green but my email as blue.

Everyone else can send and receive to to my cell number via iMessage just not my wife. We can communicate through iMessage if she sends to my email.

Shot in the dark...have her try editing your contact card. Change your number type from a "mobile" to "iPhone"

Double check the send and receive settings in settings>messages

I fixed it,

On my wife's phone i turned off iMessage then reset network settings and turned it back on.
