So my father's BlackBerry finally died after I don't know how many years (Yes, very very long time), So i give my father my iPhone 4S which siting in my drawer for a long time while I am loving Nexus 4.

I am using iPad and iPod Touch, I helped my father created his own Apple ID. Restored iOS 7 and used his Apple ID to activiate the iPhone.

I figure why not setup iMessage and FaceTime as well, so I can do some FaceTime chat while I am away.

Now the problem is that, iMessage keeps saying waiting for activiation, but I can send him iMessage no problem. However, I cannot use FaceTime Audio and FaceTIme with him. Turned off iMessage off and back on, then it will tell me some error message and the status is still waiting for activiation on message settings.

Anyone have similar problem or idea?

Update to 7.0.3.

If you've already done that, then backup to iTunes/icloud/both, Erase All Content and Settings, sign into iMessage and FaceTime, Erase All Content and settings, load backup. Done.

This happened to me once. I had turned off iMessage and when I turned it back on, it was stuck on "waiting for activation". I tried rebooting the phone and turning off iMessage and FaceTime and then turning them back on. Finally I just turned them both on and left them on the waiting for activation thing, and went to sleep, and when I woke up the next morning they were both working fine again
