The carrier has no impact on how the messaging system functions. You may simply have a bad phone. Calling Apple seems appropriate. Or if it's within range I'd take it into an Apple Store. You need an appointment to be seen at the genius bar. A task you can complete online at Apple .com.

The service is great, you'll be impressed. :)

Thank you for the reply, but I don't think there's anything wrong with the phone, iMessage is just a different kind of app.

I believe I need to re-register my phone number with iMessage's servers, but I can't find the option to do so.

Is your carrier an official Apple carrier? If you tell me what carrier and country I could check for you.

I'm on Pelephone, Israel.

I believe it is an official carrier.

I just solved it - had to disable and than re-enable iMessage from settings.
I have no idea why it wasn't the 1st thing I tried :S

Thank you!
