Opening and reading an iMessage from a notification does not clear the unread message badge from the complication. Anyone seeing notice this and is this by design?

I’m getting random reboots on my watch every other day as well lol.
That's not normal at all

i'd recommend an unpair/re-pair

you shouldn't loose anything since it should backup, and restore all your data
it will just take an hour or so

it tends to make strange things stop happening.

This. Unpair and repair worked on my AW series 4 to fix a couple glitches today. Took about 30 minutes and everything was again up and running. Keep cellular plan (if applicable), restore from backup.

Yeah, I been meaning to do a re-pair but been lazy and it’s annoying lol. The notification issue seems to have corrected itself. If I get another random reboot, I’ll do the re-pair.

Enjoy pairing & unpairing whilst you can still do it! 😁🙂

Following my (second) personal experience with an iPhone randomly stuck in boot loop, I'd like to clarify for anyone who comes across this post:
  • Presented with a situation where your iPhone is not functional, whilst your watch is perfectly fine, there is nonetheless no ability to unpair the watch from said iPhone;
  • A brand new iPhone & all backup's one could have, will still not allow the unpairing of the Apple Watch, the only option is to delete the Apple Watch entirely
All that is most certainly based on the 'secure' relationship one's watch enters with one's iPhone. That, in particular being bound to the identifiers of the two unique pieces of hardware, hence rendering a more user-friendly solution (given set security protocols) impossible?

(I do highly appreciate if someone knows more than I do and is able to explain what the specific issue springs from..)

Thanks for the advice. Sorry to hear of your misfortunes though.

Is there nothing Apple can do, provided you can show proof of ownership?
