iMessage only sends to iCloud email (Apple ID) and not mobile number

    Hi all

    Bought my mum a new iPhone 5S from Apple. Have tried everything, restored as new and reset network settings but still have a weird problem with imessage.

    When sending her an iMessage from my iPhone, it will only go to her phone if I message her icloud address (Apple ID). If I message her mobile number, the send button is blue and the message sends but it never says delivered. Sometimes rarely an odd message or 2 get through.

    Both the mobile number and email address are selected in "send and receive" settings of iMessage.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    Uptick her iCloud address and see what happens.
