As a European in Europe it really amazes me to realize how many Americans actually still use SMS. We have all moved to Whatsapp, Telegram or similar apps. Nobody, literally NOBODY uses iMessage, SMS, etx.

SMS are basically used only for administrations, banks, or hospitals.

This makes as much sense as a company who makes or breaks a company via ranking also selling services that might boast your ranking while constantly changing the criteria you must meet for higher ranking and all without being biased against you for anything that offends them.

They get OS updates, Major and Minor.
Until they go out of support period, this depends on manufacturer.

And, no. In the context that was given - that Androids NOT getting updates still get updates from the Play Store to the PlayServices API family, while true, still means Androids don’t get updates. They’re left to die after an average of 12 months. They’re throwaway devices.

Would be nice if iPhone users too could not have to see the "so and so liked [message content]" on non-iMessage threads.

I'd like to see this happen in iMessage when in a group thread of mixed users. It'd be great to not see all the someone liked a comment or photo messages.

this happens on iphone as well if there is an android user in a group chat. super annoying

It's ridiculous that Apple hasn't done this for their own devices when using sms.

Looks like Apple is finally doing the same thing in iOS 16 :)
