When I connect my iPhone X via CarPlay and hit messages on the screen in my car, it shows me text threads from years ago. The texts are not on my phone or in the cloud, they only display on CarPlay? Anyone else have this problem?

It might not help but...
I got a download of my data from Apple and bizarrely it had a small portion of my browsing history from many many years ago. Then there was a huge gap of no data through to just my most recent browsing history. It seems like there is a glitch their end where it hadn’t been erased like it should have.
Perhaps you have a similar issue with your messages?
