iMessages in the Cloud

I have two Macs, an iPhone and an iPad, each with different messages because they are not synched, and I delete some off of some devices but not others. What will not happen if I turn on messages in the cloud? How will it decide which messages to synch to all of the devices? Will it copy messages I deleted off some devices back on those devices?
