I've just started playing with GarageBand. An excellent piece of software and no mistake. The only issue I have is that the built in mic on the MBP is somewhat below the quality I want.
So I need a mic preamp to allow me to connect a mic to my Mac. The iMic seems like a good solution, on the face of it. I've read quite a few reviews saying that the audio quality is good. The only thing I'm worried about is the latency when recording a second track whilst playing back the first.
Does anyone have any experience of using the iMic to record in this situation? Using the built in mic I have no problems whatsoever; the two tracks are perfectly in sync.
