Is anyone else having this problem? I shoot and edit 1080p high-definition footage and I load it into the recently-updated iMovie 10.1.5 to edit it, but when I try to directly upload it to YouTube, I only get options for SD 480p and Large 540p! I know it must be something with the YouTube uploader, because when I checked the Export File options, the high-definition options (720p 60 and 1080p 60) DO show up. So far I was able to work around this by exporting the project to Final Cut Pro X, and with its' 10.4.9 update, THAT can still upload to YouTube in HD, so I know it's just a problem iMovie has.

You realize of course that Youtube doesn't transcode in realtime, right?? 🙄
The lo-rez are always the first to show up, the hi-rez show up LAST. iMovie most certainly uploads in HD!

I have exactly the same problem. A movie that can be exported as HD movie doesn't offer this export option in YT export. So the only workaround seems to be to upload to YT outside of iMovie...

Well, Apple has since addressed the problem and fixed it with iMovie 10.1.16. It can upload to YouTube in HD again!
