imovie 4.01 - imovie HD 6

I've got a desktop with imovie 4.01
Laptop has imovie HD 6

I would like to know your thoughts on preferences. (I've only used 4.01, dabbled with 6)

It seems that the upgrade to 6 is a purchase rather than a free upgrade. Is this correct?

If you are asking if it will cost $$ to upgrade to imovie 6 on the desktop, then yes-it is not a free upgrade.

There are incremental updates that are free downloads. But the Upgrades are not free.

Just be certain that your desktop meets all of the requirements for iLife 6 before purchasing.
